How To Fix The Lack Of Intimacy In Your Marriage
Video overview: If you’re constantly thinking about how little affection you get from your wife, this episode will help you see the trap that keeps men stuck. I’m talking about the difference between trying to get intimacy and learning how to create it, because those two men feel very different to the woman they love.

When affection is missing in your marriage, it can start to take up a lot of space in your head.

You notice every time she doesn’t touch you. You notice every night she turns away in bed. You notice the lack of kisses, the lack of warmth, the lack of softness, the lack of sexual energy.

And pretty soon, it’s not just something that’s happening in the marriage.

It becomes the thing you think about all the time.

You wake up wondering if today will be different. You go to bed wondering why she doesn’t want you. You start measuring every conversation, every hug, every look, every tiny sign of closeness or distance.

That’s a miserable way to live.

And I know most men don’t want to be there. You don’t want to obsess. You don’t want to feel needy. You don’t want to keep bringing it up. You don’t want to feel like the guy who is always asking for affection, always hoping for sex, always disappointed when nothing changes.

But when intimacy is missing, it hurts.

It hits your confidence. It hits your sense of being wanted. It hits your self-respect if you don’t know what to do with it. It can make a good man feel small, angry, ashamed, or desperate.

This episode is about one of the most important distinctions I teach men.

There is a big difference between a man who knows how to create intimacy and a man who only knows how to get intimacy.

A man who is trying to get intimacy is usually focused on what is missing. He’s watching her. He’s waiting for her. He’s wondering when she’s going to finally give him the affection, sex, appreciation, or warmth he wants.

He may be kind, helpful, patient, or romantic. But underneath it all, there’s often a hidden question.

“Will this make her want me?”

That question changes everything.

It puts pressure into your touch. It puts expectation into your kindness. It puts disappointment into your face. It makes your wife feel like every nice thing you do has a job attached to it.

And women can feel that.

She can feel when your hug is really a test. She can feel when your compliment is really a request. She can feel when your help around the house is secretly connected to the hope that she will finally soften, touch you, or want sex.

That doesn’t make you a bad man.

It makes you a man who is hungry for something real, and nobody ever taught you how to handle that hunger without making it her burden.

A man who creates intimacy is different.

He still wants his wife. He still desires closeness. He still cares about affection, sex, playfulness, and passion. He’s not pretending those things don’t matter.

But he’s not trying to extract them from her so he can feel okay.

He brings warmth because he is warm. He brings steadiness because he has learned to steady himself. He brings honesty because he respects himself enough to tell the truth. He brings presence because he is not constantly trying to drag reassurance out of the room.

That feels very different.

A woman is much more likely to relax around a man who can create emotional safety without becoming needy. She is more likely to trust a man who can desire her without pressuring her. She is more likely to open to a man who brings connection instead of constantly asking her to provide it.

This is where a lot of men get stuck.

They think the problem is that their wife won’t give them intimacy. And yes, that may be part of the problem. A marriage without affection is painful, and I’m not going to tell you to be happy with crumbs.

But if all of your energy is focused on getting intimacy, you may be adding weight to the very thing you want to revive.

You may be making her feel responsible for your confidence. Responsible for your happiness. Responsible for your sense of masculinity. Responsible for proving that you’re still wanted.

That’s too much pressure for intimacy to breathe.

Real intimacy grows in a different environment. It grows where there is safety, playfulness, honesty, respect, appreciation, and freedom. It grows when both people can relax. It grows when desire does not feel like a demand and affection does not feel like a debt.

This episode will help you look at your own energy more clearly.

Not so you can blame yourself. Not so you can excuse your wife from her part. Not so you can become a monk who no longer cares about sex or touch.

But so you can finally see the part you can lead.

You can stop approaching your wife like a man trying to get something from her. You can start becoming a man who knows how to create an atmosphere where connection has a chance to return.

That means learning how to regulate your fear. It means learning how to hold your desire with confidence instead of shame. It means learning how to bring affection without needing an instant return. It means learning how to tell the truth about what you want without turning it into pressure.

Brother, that’s the inside game.

Most men were never taught it. We were taught to work hard, provide, solve problems, and keep going. But nobody taught us how to create intimacy with a woman when we feel rejected, lonely, and scared.

That’s why this matters so much.

Because if your marriage lacks intimacy, the answer is not to chase harder. And it’s not to shut down and pretend you don’t care.

The answer is to become the kind of man who can create connection from strength, not hunger.

That’s where things begin to change.

Stop chasing affection

If the lack of intimacy has been taking over your mind, you don’t have to keep reaching from fear or shutting yourself down. We can help you become calmer, stronger, and more capable of creating the kind of connection you actually want.
