Hey brother,

Yeah, it’s some 60-year-old dude from the sticks of Colorado calling you, “brother”.

Why is that?

Because the very first time a man I really trusted and respected gave me a hug and called me “brother” it made me cry. And I’m never going to forget that. I’ll never forget the power of feeling invited into a brotherhood where everyone is safe, everyone gets each other and everyone’s voice matters.

That’s what the Goodguys2Greatmen community means to me and the men who choose to come here.

Welcome, brother! (virtual hug)

─ The Scorecard Explained

What Is the Masculine
Mastery Scorecard?

The Masculine Mastery Scorecard is a free self-assessment developed by Steve Horsmon after years of coaching men and observing the patterns that separate men who thrive from men who merely survive. It covers 12 specific life categories — the areas where a man’s thinking, habits and identity either empower him or hold him back.

In each category, you rate yourself across four stages of development: Good Guy, Awakened Guy, Enlightened Guy and Great Man. The scoring reveals your current position on the journey with precision — and your personalised results come with free videos and handpicked resources.

It’s completely free

No email required to take the quiz. No obligation. No pitch. You get immediate results with personalised recommendations — including free videos for your exact stage — the moment you finish.

What is personal development for men?

Personal development for men is the deliberate process of building masculine confidence, emotional intelligence, clear personal values and purposeful direction across all major life areas. Unlike generic self-help, men’s personal development specifically addresses the masculine psychology — how men build identity, handle conflict, lead relationships and find purpose.

What are the four stages from Goodguys2GreatMan?

The Goodguys2Greatmen framework identifies four stages: Good Guy (operating on autopilot, unaware of his patterns), Awakened Guy (starting to see the patterns, feeling restless and dissatisfied), Enlightened Guy (actively taking steps to change his mindset and behaviour), and Great Man (living with clarity, genuine masculine confidence and purposeful direction in all areas).

Is the Masculine Mastery Scorecard really free?

Yes. The scorecard is completely free with no strings attached. You do not need to enter an email address to start. After completing all 12 categories you receive immediate, personalised results — including free videos and resources matched to your exact stage. There is no obligation to purchase anything.

How long does the scorecard take?

Most men complete the scorecard in 8 to 12 minutes. There are 12 categories, each with a simple 1–12 sliding scale. Read the four stage descriptions, identify where you honestly are right now, and select your score. The more honest you are, the more useful your results.

─ The Journey

The 4 Stages of the
Good Guy to Great Man Journey

Every man who has ever become genuinely great passed through these four
stages. The only question is: how long did he spend in each one — and did he have a map?

Stage 01

Good Guy

Autopilot

He plays by the rules. He tries to keep everyone happy. He avoids conflict. He believes that doing everything “right” will get him the love and respect he wants. It doesn’t — and he doesn’t understand why.

  • Work feels like something to survive, not create
  • Confused by women — believes “happy wife happy life”
  • No clear mission or personal values
  • Conflict avoidance is his default setting

“I’m doing everything right. Why isn’t she happy with me?”

Stage 02

Awakened Guy

Seeing the Pattern

Something cracks. He starts to notice patterns he couldn’t see before. He feels restless — more dissatisfied than ever. He reads about “having a mission” and thinks it might be for other people. The awakening is uncomfortable.

  • Starts questioning everything — including himself
  • Feels urgency but doesn’t know where to direct it
  • Reading books, listening to podcasts — seeking answers
  • More aware of what’s missing but not yet what to do

“Something’s wrong. I don’t know exactly what. But I can’t unsee it now.”

Stage 03

Enlightened Guy

Taking Action

He stops waiting for things to change and starts making changes. He’s taken baby steps — applied for a different job, started a workout routine, had an honest conversation he’d been avoiding. His new energy is making others notice.

  • Implemented real changes in at least some life areas
  • Developing genuine self-awareness for the first time
  • Seeking community with other men on the same path
  • Values are becoming clearer — still being tested daily

“I know what I need to change. I’m actually doing it. But I need support to sustain it.”

Stage 04

Great Man

Living with Purpose

He’s not perfect — he knows that’s not the point. He’s clear about his values, his mission, and who he wants to be. He leads from strength, not fear. Mondays and Fridays feel the same to him. He has nothing to prove — only things to create.

  • Work integrates with his higher mission and energises him
  • Relationships reflect his values — not his neediness
  • Financially intentional — debt-free, investing in others
  • Creates the life he wants — not the one others expect

“I know who I am. I know where I’m going. The best is still to come.”

Where do most men arrive? The vast majority of men who come to GG2GM are between Stage 2 (Awakened) and Stage 3 (Enlightened). They can see the problem. They’re ready to act. They just need the map — and a brother who has walked the path before them.

What You’ll Walk Away With

The scorecard is not just a quiz. It’s a personalised diagnostic that gives you
a clear picture of exactly where you are — and exactly what to do next.

01

Your exact position on the journey — across all 12 categories

No generalities. You’ll see, category by category, which areas you’re excelling in and which are quietly holding you back. Most men are surprised that their biggest gap isn’t where they expected it.

05

An honest mirror — without judgement

The scorecard was designed to be honest and direct — not to make you feel good about staying where you are. Most men report that taking it is simultaneously uncomfortable and liberating. That’s how you know it’s working.

Absolutely. The Masculine Mastery Scorecard covers all 12 major areas of a man’s life — only one of which is romantic relationships. Men at every stage use it to identify where they’re operating below their potential in work, money, fitness, friendships, mission and mindset. You don’t need to be in a crisis to benefit from knowing exactly where you stand.

The four stages are: Good Guy (operating on autopilot, approval-seeking, unaware of his patterns), Awakened Guy (beginning to see the patterns, feeling restless and dissatisfied), Enlightened Guy (actively taking deliberate action to grow), and Great Man (living with genuine masculine confidence, clear values and purposeful direction).

Goodguys2Greatmen focuses on the specific intersection of masculine confidence and relationship quality — built on 13+ years and 5,000+ men coached. Unlike generic self-help, the Goodguys2Greatmen framework is grounded in real coaching outcomes and addresses the specific mindset patterns that cause good men to lose confidence, attraction and purpose in their relationships and lives.

After completing the scorecard you receive immediate personalised results — your stage position, your specific gaps and free resources matched to your scores.
